Martin Schulz steps down as SPD Germany head

German Social Democratic Party (SPD) leader Martin Schulz on Tuesday announced to resign with immediate effect as Party chairman. "For me, this is the last speech as chairman of the SPD. It's a difficult job at times," Schulz said. SPD parliamentary group leader and former Labor Minister Andrea Nahles is likely to replace him.

Agni-II missile test-fired off Orissa coast

The Indian Army on Tuesday test-fired an indigenously developed intermediate range ballistic missile Agni II from the Abdul Kalam Island off the Odisha coast. The trial was conducted by the Strategic Forces Command (SFC) of the Army as part of its user training exercise. The surface-to-surface missile, has a strike range of more than 2,000 km.
