Over a hundred people fall sick in the US, as officials point to McDonalds

90 cases of illness were reported since May in Illinois while 15 were reported in late June in Iowa, and health officials suspect it to be due to a parasite found in a McDonald's salad. A parasite named cyclosopra is thought to be behind the problem. According to the health dept in Illinois, around one-fourth of the people had the salad at McDonald' before taking ill.

The Lok Sabha on Thursday passed the Fugitive Economic Offenders Bill, 2018, which is aimed at strengthening the laws dealing with loan defaulters who flee the country. The bill will replace the Fugitive Economic Offenders Ordinance which was promulgated by the President in April. Finance Minister Piyush Goyal had on Wednesday introduced the bill in Lok Sabha.
