Rolls-Royce Ghost Left Stuck On Flooded Kolkata Road

Kolkata's recent cloudburst incident left several areas in the West Bengal capital waterlogged, and among the vehicles caught in the flooding was a Rolls-Royce Ghost, which currently retails for around Rs 8.95 crore. The Rolls-Royce Ghost was spotted stranded in Ballygunge, South Kolkata, in water that had risen to its floor pan.The incident took place on September 23 when the city received heavy rainfall after a cloudburst, overwhelming the city's drainage systems and leaving multiple roads submerged. Pictures of the stranded car quickly spread online after being shared by Supercars of Kolkata on Instagram. The Rolls-Royce Ghost in question was a Series II finished in blue with a contrasting silver section. The images shared thankfully show that no one was inside the car or attempting to move the sedan as floodwater surrounded the vehicle on both sides. We believe the car may have suffered an engine shutdown after water entered the powerplant. Hydrolock is a common risk when you attempt to drive through flooded roads, and in most cases, this results in significant repair costs for mechanical and electronic components.
