Railway engineer arrested while taking 5 lakh bribe

An executive engineer of the North Central Railways has been arrested by the CBI for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 5 lakh from a contractor for processing payments and granting other favours. The alleged bribe was the first instalment in the total of Rs 19 lakhs demanded by Panna Lal Sailani, posted in Tundla, a major railway junction in Uttar Pradesh.

According to a study, insufficient sleep can dramatically increase a driver's risk of being involved in car crashes. The study showed that those who have slept for less than seven of the past 24 hours have higher odds of being in an accident. The risk is greatest for drivers who have slept fewer than four hours, the researchers who conducted the study said.

China will impose additional tariffs on US products worth $60 billion in response to the newly-announced American tariffs on Chinese goods. Tariffs will go into effect from Sept 24. China also filed an additional complaint with World Trade Organization against US's decision to impose tariffs on $200 billion worth of Chinese goods under Section 301 investigation.
