A law tightening controls over the internet in Egypt has been approved by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. Law allows authorities, through a judge, to order the blocking of websites that "constitute a threat" to Egypt's national security. Those who administer or visit such websites, intentionally or "in error without a valid reason", can now face jail time and fines.

Immersion ceremony will be attended by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, his Uttarakhand counterpart Trivendra Singh Rawat among others.
