HAL Airport in Bengaluru, which closed for commercial flights in 2008, is set to reopen for passenger services by 2033, states a new report by Oneindia. The decision comes as part of a larger plan to expand the city's aviation infrastructure and ease the burden on the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA).The Karnataka government, along with the Centre, has pledged support for the revival of the HAL Airport. The old HAL terminal looks set to be demolished by 2030 to make way for a new passenger facility with a multi-level car park, upgraded access roads, and supporting infrastructure for flyers.
