India's passenger vehicle market posted strong year-on-year gains in May 2026, with Maruti Suzuki recording its highest-ever monthly domestic sales of 1,90,337 units. Tata Motors retained second place at 59,090 units, finishing just 1,069 units ahead of Mahindra, as its EV sales crossed the 10,000-unit mark for the first time .
