Triumph Cuts Speed 400, T4 Prices By Up To ₹16,797

British bikemaker Triumph has announced a price cut on its Speed 400 and Speed T4 models ahead of the festive season. The company has reduced prices by up to ₹16,797 despite the recent GST hike on motorcycles above 350cc to 40 per cent. The Speed 400 is now priced at ₹2,33,754 (Ex-showroom), down from the previous ₹2,50,551, a drop of ₹16,797 (down by 6.70 per cent). The Speed 400 series's entry-level Triumph Speed T4 is now available at ₹1,92,539 (ex-showroom), revised from ₹2,06,738, which is a drop of ₹14,199 (down by 6.80 per cent). Triumph and Bajaj had chosen to absorb the increased costs following the GST revision rather than passing them on to customers as they continued to focus on accessibility and maintaining the growth momentum of the Speed 400 range. The Speed 400 and Speed T4 have been key drivers of Triumph's expansion in India. Since FY23-24, monthly sales volumes of the Speed 400 lineup have nearly doubled, helping Triumph make its mark on the mid-size motorcycle category.Speaking on the announcement, Manik Nangia, President, Probiking, Bajaj Auto Ltd., said:"The Speed 400 and Speed T4 have set benchmarks in performance, design, and accessibility. By absorbing the impact and introducing a price slash, Triumph and Bajaj Auto are reaffirming their focus on the Indian market and its customers, ensuring the Speed range continues to deliver unmatched value. We have also seen monthly volumes nearly double since FY23-24, with a strong surge in demand before the GST revision, which is a clear reflection of the trust and aspiration customers associate with Triumph. We are confident of sustaining this momentum going forward."The Speed 400 Series is based on the firm's new 398.15cc, four-valve, DOHC, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that pushes out 39.5bhp at 8,000 rpm and 37.5Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm in the Speed 400.
